I Sassi Borgogna

A touch of heritage. From ancient sites to contemporary style. Discover the timeless wonder of the Sassi di Matera, a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site made up of ancient cave dwellings that have been continuously inhabited since the Paleolithic era. The fusion of form, material, and identity in Matera gives life to the I Sassi Collection (I Sassi Matera and I Sassi Borgogna). Inspired by the Sassi of Matera carved from soft calcarenite (a sedimentary rock shaped over time by water and eroded by wind), the collection is available in many different sizes and thicknesses, offered in several color variations. The Matera design represents a unique creative expression that does not exist in nature, as it is the result of the fusion of two distinct materials: the Borgogna background combined with decorative flakes layered over it. Notably, the background of I Sassi Matera is the same as I Sassi Borgogna, creating a harmonious union between the two designs with a perfectly matched color palette. This thoughtful combination enhances the visual depth of the surface while preserving a coherent and refined aesthetic identity across the collection.
